Match Day Essentials - Kit, Equipment & Ground Etiquette

To make our Sunday matches run smoothly, here's what you need to know before you head to the ground.

Kit & uniform

Your child must wear the correct club kit for every match. The club uses two kit combinations:

  • Green kit - green jersey, black shorts with black socks
  • Red kit - red jersey, black shorts with red socks - (Juniors and Above Only)
Your coach will tell you which kit to wear each week. Mixed combinations (e.g. green jersey with red socks) aren't acceptable.

  • Goalkeepers: if your goalkeeper doesn't have a dedicated keeper kit, they're permitted to wear the red away shirt, a bib may be required in the event of a colour clash.
The coach will confirm with the referee before kick-off that the colours give enough contrast.

  • Do not cut the ankles or backs out of socks.
It's a problem each season - it disrespects the club's investment in equipment. If a player turns up with cut socks, they'll need to pay $10 for a replacement pair before they can play future games.

Ref's may critique this and can refuse allowance to play if Kits are not aligned.

Jewellery, glasses & shin guards

For player safety:

  • All jewellery must be removed before kick-off (rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc).
Taping over jewellery is not acceptable:
    - It has to come off
    - Religious jewellery is not exempt
    • Regular prescription glasses are not permitted on the field. Only sports-approved safety glasses, or contacts, can be worn.
       - Please speak to your optometrist for options as broken glasses can cause irreperable eye damage
    • Shin guards are mandatory. No shin guards = no play. There are no exceptions.

Match day setup & pack-up (for any Home Games)

As we are all volunteers, we rely on parents to help with ground setup and pack-up. If your child's match is the first of the day on a pitch, please try come a little earlier (nominate 1 or 2 within the team) before kick-off to help ensure fields are good to go.

If your child's match is the last of the day on a pitch, please stay 10 - 15 minutes after the final whistle and help pack down. This means:

  • Collecting all poles, markers, cones and nets from the pitch
  • Returning all equipment to the clubhouse
    - it can be left neatly on the lawn directly in front of the clubhouse
